Maybe Steung Treng. Bit of passing tourist trade and not much competition.

We could all drop in for a few on a Friday evening and go to watch sport on the weekend???????? Just to show support to a new venture.Kammekor wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 8:27 am You will be the first for sure in Kom Moum:

Rents are still low and you could rent on the National Highway.
Might be struggling to find a decent client base though...

Re: Affordable city to start bar business ?
Cliché @ talk to others , expect to lose money , etc //.
I heard steung treng , the city here is Steung Sen ( k. thom ).
I see tourists ( or maybe they are teachers here ) in the coffee shops but they don’t sell beer or cocktails there
Why would anybody suggest Siem Reap ? It’s full of bars .
¿ Canada ? Haha
Expect to lose for sure unless you got a gimmick or the 1st or 1 & only
And this country is low on beach possibilities anymore - kep is dead . Kampot sucks , like K. Cham if you get my drift
K. Thom don’t have any bars at all , what do i have to live for here ?
... and yea , i would never go to a bar to watch sports . You might want to get a satellite dish. not much t.v. here either
I don’t know about the weirdos that come here to watch sports .
I don’t get any kicks watchin grown men kick balls around
Gettin drunk and blasting music works for me
If he wants a peaceful place then keep the music low .

Thanks for your help.
Why are you saying are you ready to loose your money ?
Of course if I open a bar that looks like all the others in siem reap its not gonna work... but why it would not work in a city that is not full of expat yet ? And why all this expat with money don’t go to this cities around ? I’m sure there is a lot to do. There is so much beautiful city in Cambodia that’s are not famous yet. If à Cambodian peoples can earn money with small business and investment expat can too. As I’m saying I am not planning to earn big money at all, I am retire , I have money and if this can pay my food and rent it will be Enough. I was thinking about quiet / blues , jazz bar , 30-40 sqft. Why not making cheap food too.

Well do you speak fluent Cambodian?
"And why all this expat with money don’t go to this cities around ?"
Basically because the smaller cities are boring.
You really need to do some in country research.

There are zero bars here in the center of kampong thom ,
There also is no night life that i know of ..
it’s close to seim reap .. but i haven’t been there , yet
If you do it , i hope you can make chili con carne , and some good soup like vegtable and Irish stew
I hope it’s a girlie bar , or at least massage .
I am looking forward to it like at mikes burgers in s’ville !

Rents are too high. Owners charge the absolute maximum they think they can get. Some people start a business and realize they cant make enough to cover the rent.Thomasss wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 5:35 pm Why are you saying are you ready to loose your money ?

I repeat. Talk to others who are running businesses. Learn from others mistakes. Spend the beginning of your time just going to various places and listening to the experiences of others.
