Water can put out noise

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Water can put out noise

Post by Duncan »

So it was after 2 am in the morning, a time of the night when all little girls and boys and babies should be sound asleep, when I was rudely awakened from a pleasant dream about Srey Mom by a noisy motorized noodle seller with his '' buy my noodles for $1 '' repeatedly coming from his loud speaker parked below my apartment.
After 5 minuets of listening to that , I got out of bed and headed for my first weapon of choice, ,,, ice cubes in my freezer , that if dropped from my third floor would have a nasty result and leave no evidence except for a wet spot after 5 minuets. Luck was on his side as by the time my brain and eyes were functioning properly he was moving down the road to annoy someone else.
But ten minuets later he was back again and this time I grabbed my second weapon of choice,, the garden / firehose and turned it on. It was like a Cambodian , mini-style HongKong riot below as bargirls , their customers, tuktuk drivers and the noodle seller all pointed upwards to me while trying to evade the water from my water cannon. It was only then that someone knew what the problem was and the noodle seller dashed to his moto and turned of the speaker system and I turned off the water, and everything returned to the '' old normal ''
So as I lay in bed for the next four hours waiting for the sunrise and my rights to my first cup of coffee for the day, I went over Duncans newly discovered theory that water can not only put out fire but can also be used to put out noise.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

That's why we also have Songkran here as in Thailand. It's especially good to cause motor accidents which may result in injury or death and attack or harass your rival business owners. Talcum powder bombs are good for causing temporary blindness too. Everyone joins in and has fun, driving under the influence or drunk is compulsory in some regions. Boiling water isn't allowed but is understood to be particularly effective.
