How, Ira?
seriously.
Personally i reckon this is the greatest example of the bankruptcy of "market rules" philosophy since it's last biggest failure.
(PS, go ask Al Greenspan what he thinks about "market rules" these days)

Surely you are not suggesting the "free market" has not found the solution to life-saving drug prices?SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 5:29 amHow, Ira?

One popular drug, NovoLog, increased in list price by 353% from 2001 to 2016. Insulin cost is a big reason the average annual per-patient spending on treatment for type 1 diabetes increased from $12,467 in 2012 to $18,494 in 2016. Some families raise the money however they can. https://www.webmd.com/diabetes/news/201 ... rutal-bind Insulin was discovered in 1922 so the price increases obviously are not to pay for the research.
Free market? haha, it is the 26 individuals that are worth more than the worlds poorest 50% that control everything.

So your argument is more nanny state controls? More rules and regulation? So that’s how the world will be saved?

And your argument is to get the cash now and who cares what the world is like in 50 years because you will be dead and have no children anyway?newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 6:06 am So your argument is more nanny state controls? the girl is cloying, and the blatant manipulation angers
but those who know have been talking sense for decades, and no-one has lifted a fucking finger
time to make people angry, and if necessary, violent
once it's gone, it's GONE

Beware "the little girl from Scandinavia" who was promoting "doomsday waffle talk".
"No one knows when the final wind up of the world will be".
"Jesus said no one, only the Father God, knows about that day or hour."
PHOTO supplied: The principal of Coffs Harbour Christian Community School
(bald fat man with glasses and hitler moustache smiling stupidly, but supremely confidently, at the camera
- also came under fire in 2004 for a leaflet attacking state schools for being "Communist")
Ms Thunberg's climate activism started as a one-person school strike, and has since swelled into a global movement of millions. She addressed the United Nations last week, accusing politicians of failing her generation.
But Mr Lynn urged people not to listen to her,
"Do not be afraid. Your world's future is in the hands of God, not in the predictions of a little girl and false prophets."

Re: Greta Thunberg's climate change speech
I see "97% of climate scientists" used by everybody from buzzfeed to bobby on facebook to the red tops and the broadsheets.
I'm skeptical of both extremes; the "end is nigh" bunch, and the "this is normal" brigade.
