It is a little embarrassing that a child can draw attention to a problem grown me know exists and do nothing about. At 16 she has accomplished more than I have and despite my flaws, I live a gifted life. Blame social media, the internet or whatever you want, I am not pissing on a 16-year old that garners not just headlines but the attention of a bunch of old f@cks on a forum from the end of the earth when my biggest concern at 16 was could I borrow dad's car and was I going to find someone to get me booze so I could get Sally Rottencrotch drunk and then maybe have a chance to get my rocks off.

Say what you want about her, she has accomplished more globally than the entire forum has and collectively we have about a billion years of living. The new world moves at a breakneck speed. I like most of all of us is an observer now, not a participant. Good for her.

I dont get why she is getting so much attention.. is it JUST cause she is a kid?

Perhaps that is why a child is best as a spokesman for the climate change opponents, The hypocrisy of having a multimillionaire telling the poor of Brazil they must stop burning the rainforest regardless if they are landless is a little rich for me. I was struck by Al Gores riding around alone in the back of a Benz S class in his film, the optics seemed a little too incongruent for the message he was delivering. Children are not as corrupt as adults, they haven t had the opportunity yet.

Come to think of it there is a reason age restrictions apply to a ton of things kids would like to do... drink, drive, own guns, take newly legalised drugs, run for office!
Her speech was written to take effect of her age.... also her IMDB page lists her as an actress lol.
The free market will find a solution... not big government.
Which leads to the point being raised by some that this is all just a cover for just that.. more governmental control of people’s everyday lives. Bit like that useless ban on plastic straws.... when the bulk of the plastic waste in the oceans comes from a handful of river is Asia and Africa. But yeah.... ban something that the west disposes of sensibly and let’s ignore the mega tsunami of waste coming from those rivers.
So to be frank I am not buying into her crocodile tears until I hear her taking China to task!
