Good news: one person has been found alive.

Battambang: According to a military official, a victim of the landslide was found still alive, but suffering from some injuries. However, he did not confirm the identity of the victim, who was still waiting to be taken to the 5th Brigade Command and transferred to hospital.

Later on, Lieutenant General Ouch Sokhon, the provincial police chief, said that the victim was found in Thai territory about two kilometers from the Cambodian border. He said that because the incident occurred on the Thai side of the border, our forces received the information late. Now, at this time, the victim has been brought to the hospital.

Unfortunately, the other missing man was not so lucky. RIP.

September 21, 2019
Man found dead days after landslide
A man who went missing on Monday when flash floods rushing down a mountain side caused a landslide and swamped a village in Battambang province’s Samlot district, was found dead on Friday.

Samlot district governor Sao Samet identified the man as Phan Ry, 20, from Ta Tork commune’s O’Treng village near the Cambodian-Thai border.

“Cambodian and Thai authorities cooperated and found Mr Ry in Thai territory. Sadly, he already died and his body was decomposing,” he said. “We have informed his family and relatives to pick the body for funeral today.
