The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): On September 17, 2019, at around noon, there was a fire that burned ten houses and killed two people in Sangkat Chrang Chamras, Khan Reusey Keo, Phnom Penh.

The police went to the scene to put out the fire as soon as they were notified, but the flames spread fast. It was put out completely at 12:45 pm, but because the houses were all built in wood, the fire burnt many buildings before it was totally extinguished.

Tragically, a 13-year-old boy was trapped and burnt to death in the fire, and his father died on the way to the hospital. RIP.
The police haven't determined what caused the fire yet.

- Cham muslim in Cambodia
- Poverty
- Downs syndrome
- 13 years old
- Burned to death

How fucked up can it get? That innocent little boy did not deserve such a cruel ending to his life. This story hits me right in the feels. May the lowlife drug addicted piece of trash responsible for this tragedy experience the suffering endured by the community around him.

R.I.P. young lad.
