@Mishmash You obviously have no fucking idea what you're talking about.
Your website loads extremely slow, looks shit (many images not loading) and for a free SSL-certificate one does not need the solution you 'recommend', you only need a web hosting service that supports Let's Encrypt (so, not your shitty GoDaddy hosting).
Try learning a bit before 'advising' others...
To the OP: if you want a quality website, don't even try it yourself, just hire a reliable web designer, period.

I agree I'm not a professional, but it works for me is all.frizzie77 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2019 11:20 pm @Mishmash You obviously have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

Loads ok my browser and smartphone.
Yeah - im not good at content - agreed - maybe slow some browsers (i notice firefox) - dunno why - chrome loads well.
I have noticed that here in Cambodia - the internet speed is a bit unreliable to Singapore sometimes and, like you, some images fail to load in Firefox (not just my site but professional like the Daily Mail)
Lets Encrypt SSL is the one i am using, is free and works on godaddy (my slow site hosting) .
I used it because i'm a cheapo and didn't want the 'paid' SSL godaddy provides and wants to sell me.
The website I provided for the SSL is the online certificate generation tool, but the SSL it provides is actually the 4096 bit by Let's Encrypt. I just found it easier to use that site.
No worries about 'professional' or 'reliable'- could be worth it..
Have you a reliable professional in mind here for the OP (which was his original request)??
Thanks for your feedback - much appreciated (even if it stung a bit)

Re: website maker recommendations
edit your .htaccess file with this
<IfModule mod_expires.c>
ExpiresActive On
# Images
ExpiresByType image/jpeg "access plus 1 year"
ExpiresByType image/gif "access plus 1 year"
ExpiresByType image/png "access plus 1 year"
ExpiresByType image/webp "access plus 1 year"
ExpiresByType image/svg+xml "access plus 1 year"
ExpiresByType image/x-icon "access plus 1 year"
# Video
ExpiresByType video/mp4 "access plus 1 year"
ExpiresByType video/mpeg "access plus 1 year"
# CSS, JavaScript
ExpiresByType text/css "access plus 1 month"
ExpiresByType text/javascript "access plus 1 month"
ExpiresByType application/javascript "access plus 1 month"
# Others
ExpiresByType application/pdf "access plus 1 month"
ExpiresByType application/x-shockwave-flash "access plus 1 month"
</IfModule>
compress your files under the cpanel heading software with gzip
use a plugin like jetpack
or plugins like wp smush for image optimization
and wp supercache for further gains in caching- use cdn and mobile support
update your php
it will load fast and reliably then
check with gtmetrix
