It Stinks! Phnom Penh Locals Rebel Against Factory Waste Water
Phnom Penh, Cambodia Breaking News: Residents in the village of Stung Meanchey 3, in Phnom Penh, are worried about health risks due to suspicious red water flowing on to the street. They say that reddish chemicals have been pouring from a paper factory all the way down the street, almost every day, without any intervention by the local authorities.
People are concerned that the red inky water could have a negative impact on the people living in the area, and the smell of alcohol fills the air and makes it difficult to live in the vicinity. Families are concerned for their children's health.
The residents would like to request the relevant ministries or local authorities to come to inspect the factory and oblige the owners to clean up their act. For the moment nothing is being done, and local people are suffering from the pollution.
