Ma vs Musk: tech tycoons spar on future of AI
Ma vs Musk: tech tycoons spar on future of AI
Khmer times:
(AFP) – Jack Ma believes artificial intelligence poses no threat to humanity, but Elon Musk called that “famous last words” as the billionaire tech tycoons faced off yesterday in an occasionally animated debate on futurism in Shanghai.

Very interesting discussion.

Re: Ma vs Musk: tech tycoons spar on future of AI
Mr. Ma is completely in the pocket of the PRC.
AI allows the government to fully track and monitor citizens to a level previously impossible.
The same bells were sounded a long time ago with an interview with the founder of Google. While he was extolling the power of freeing people with the internet, he also admitted that government could use it to control citizens beyond ‘1984’ levels.
When interviewed about workers doing forced overtime and sustaining injuries from not enough rest, Ma told the workers that they should work hard when they are young.
In line with the PRC’a admiration of those who work themselves to death. Just like the guy who developed jet fighters for the PRC. When he died, his wife never even knew he died. Never even knew where he worked. Never even knew he had co workers. He was hailed as a hero, an shining example for all citizens to follow.
These are my personal opinions.

is it just me.... whenever i read the name Elon Musk i automatically think of Aeon Flux.
the comix, not the movie.
i have nothing against Charlize Theron (but i would like to).

It just depends on how you want to live your life.
- as a machine? or as a human being.?
These guys want us to be a tiny, performance-driven cog in a universal fine-tuned production/consumption machine.
I don't.

Well, do they?
For sure, they want that of their employees, but not of everyone.
