Chinese Embassy in Cambodia Releases the Results of the Crackdown on Anarchic Groups in Sihanoukville
18/05/19 14:07
Phnom Penh (FN), May 17 - The Chinese Embassy in Phnom Penh issued a statement on Friday regarding the comprehensive investigation on a group of Chinese nationals who posted a video clip attempting to provoke insecurity in Sihanoukville, the port city of Cambodia, about 230 km from the capital Phnom Penh.
“After a thorough investigation by the Chinese authorities, the video was taken by a group of drunk Chinese from Chongqing who came to work in Cambodia in March 2019. It was just for fun. The individuals in the video are not affiliated with any criminal bodies,” the Chinese Embassy wrote on Facebook.
"This year marks the year of China-Cambodia's strengthened law enforcement cooperation. The two sides will take practical measures on security cooperation that would bring harmony and benefits to both people," the Embassy underlined.

Chinese netizens called for spoof video should not affect China-Cambodia ties
By Global Times -
May 23, 2019
Chinese netizens called for an earlier widely shared video of some Chinese people faking as mafia in Cambodia and threatened to disturb local security, should not be an obstacle to disturb the normal development of China-Cambodia relations.
A video showing more than 10 half-naked Chinese men creating a scene in Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia has gone viral.
The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia said on Friday that it was a spoof recorded in March by Chinese workers from Southwest Chongqing Municipality in Cambodia after they got drunk. People in the video are not involved in the mafia.
The video has also upset domestic netizens and some believe the video left a negative impression of Chinese people's image among locals...
