Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): On July 23, 2019, Mr. Ra Savoeun, commune chief, led his team to clean up the trash that is blocking the canal on national road 4, Sangkat Chom Chao 3, Phnom Penh.

On national road 4, there was a lot of trash that flew into the drain and the canal which has been causing flooding on the road. So this morning the authorities and cleaner team went to clean up the canal and get rid of all the trash, to make better conditions for motorists and residents.
The authorities have requested everyone to control their trash and to help clean up the environment.

I respect people whom put in this kind of work and dedication in their community, it would be more beneficial if the people who do litter thought how more pleasant the area looks.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Drive this route everyday and it's true...the trash flies from the hands of the motorists directly into the canal.
The "water" in the canal looks more like car oil with 200,000km on it.
The smell doesn't seem to faze all the food cart and durian vendors or their customers though.

My sympathy's go out to those people. I bet they have been driving around all day looking for a rubbish bin, so if you see one , please let them know where it is located.

You're right. It looks somewhat like an oil-change pit with at least 200,000k's on the motors. That's not just flying litter.

Most houses leave their rubbish outside and Cintri comes daily and collects it from there. What's wrong with sticking your rubbish in one of those piles? They're pretty easy to spot.

Perhaps they don't qualify as rubbish bins to you because they're not made from plastic with your favorite nanny state's name written on them but if you're really looking for a good place to put small waste it is easy to find.

So, using a garbage bin, and having a garbage collection service, is "nanny state" stuff.
Fucking socialism, creeping in everywhere.
That's why i live in Cambodia - it's still a free country!!

Well done to the authorities in district Chom Chau 3 in Phnom Penh for their continued efforts to get rid of roadside rubbish. At least they are trying to clean up the mess and make the environment better and safer for the local inhabitants. One step at a time.
