Man Kills Himself Out Fishing
Pursat, Cambodia Breaking News: A man's body was discovered lying in a stream at 2:20 pm on August 15, 2019, Dey red village, Anlong commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province.
The victim has been identified as Leng Leang, 37, living in Phnom Kravanh district, Pursat province.
After an examination of the body at the scene, authorities said that the man was out fishing with electric shock gear and he electrocuted himself by accident.

RIP Leng Leang,
It's sad people go to such lengths to try and make a living ( Or to eat ).
The competent authorities should attempt to educate the locals regarding the dangers of standing in water while dropping in electric cables.

As far as I know, electric fishing has been banned for years. But in a country where people hide under the only tree for miles around during a thunderstorm, there is a looooong way to go.

Only one day after the previous death, a young couple out fishing have died from doing the exact same thing. Tragic. RIP.

The victims were identified as Den Bon, a 25-year-old man, and Long Pen, a 23-year-old woman, who lived together in Bong Kon Reabroy village, Preah Vihear. Their bodies were taken to prepare for the funerals.
