Oddar Meanchey police arrest ‘doctor’ after patient dies
Police in Oddar Meanchey province’s Samraong city on Sunday arrested an unlicensed medical practitioner who caused the death of a woman after he prescribed a cocktail of drugs.

Captain Cheab Sareap, city deputy police chief, yesterday identified the suspect as Sroeung Bunrith, 61, and said he was arrested in Koun Kriel commune’s Chrung Khang Lech village after the death of Chhouk Mao, 24, who overdosed on drugs.

“Before the incident, the victim was unwell and went to seek treatment from the suspect who gave her a combination of drugs, including Glugose and Vitamin Becom-plex B1, causing the victim to suffer a drug reaction and die,” he said.

Cap Sareap said that after his arrest, police found that Mr Bunrith was unlicensed and had been dispensing medication without permission from the provincial health department.

He noted the police are building a case against the suspect to send him to court for further action.

Khlok Huot, provincial health department director, yesterday said that Mr Bunrith did not have a licence to practice medicine and had illegally run a clinic to treat people although he did not have any medical qualifications.

It wasnt glucose or vitamin b that killed her. People like this should be charged with murder.

You go to cambodia. Every corner! There are unlicensed pharmacies! In there was just a regilar people doing drugs business! They dont have any certifications! They should be consider drug dealers
