It was barely 1 second after he was closer than 100m to a huge explosion. I think running wasn't an unforgivable reaction.

Cambodia Breaking News, Siem Reap - A police officer suffered serious burns while trying to rescue a fire at a gas station in Wat Bo village, Siem Reap's Chambok district, at around 1 pm on August 14, 2019. The incident was confirmed to be a gas tank explosion.
The victim, Hout Mony Pisak, an intervention police officer of the Siem Reap Police Commissioner, is currently being treated at Siem Reap Referral Hospital. (Wishing him a speedy recovery from his injuries).
