Chinese Arrested for Robbing Tuktuk Driver

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

In case it has escaped anyone's notice, many of the PRC citizens working on the BRI are criminals on conditional parole with no passports or visas.

Some have entered in shipping containers, others through the porous border with Laos.

That is why there is so much criminal activity. And why they are so easily caught with assistance from the PRC.

cambo swa wrote: Mon Aug 12, 2019 1:45 am How desperate must those Chinese be to rob a tuk tuk driver? And they have to divide it between the 2 low lifes. 2 young Chinese boys in Prey Sar will be very popular. Bring the lube.
I guess what I was asking is unless a tuk tuk driver is a major yama dealer or his wife just got off work from ST 136, why would you rob them? If a good night driving, maybe $5 and an already stolen mobile phone? Easier to just grab a drunken, stumbling barang. Low hanging fruit? And they were dumb enough to get caught. Bend over boys.

Yep. not arguing there.
but i laugh whenever I hear China being called communist.
Maybe for a brief period during Mao - but everything else before and after is the same Chinese imperial state-capitalism on a grand scale.

(just a light hearted view, not arguing political science. Not this time anyway  )

Feudalism, bad - eg, C*****ia
Socialism, good - eg, most civilised western countries
Capitalism, extreme version as practiced today, bad - eg Multi national corporations, plus one strange state.
Communism, "nice idea" - no eg, never been practiced successfully
Chinaism, very successful but not very nice - eg, coming to a place near you soon.
