The Money Thing (Again) Poll.

This is a part of our Cambodia forums to chat about anything Cambodia-related. This discussion forum is at the top of our site because it's usually the busiest part of the expat community chatter with random topics on just about everything, including expat life, Khmer politics, Cambodian blogs we have or have come across, or whatever else our members want to discuss. Whether you're an expatriate, tourist, Cambodian or random traveler just passing through South East Asia, you are welcome to talk about anything or start new topics yourselves.

Now there is a question... I think I lived on about $600 a month when I first got here. 16 years later I need a minimum of $5000

When I left Cambodia 2017 I was going through about $3k monthly. Before we had kids was under $2k.

Kids = car, car seat, school, clothes

150% of my paycheck. Back to Thailand after this contract. Living standard mostly. For the same rent I pay here plus aircon bill, I had a condo (twice the size of my PP apartment) with infinity poor, sauna room and gym, 60” tv, IKEA furniture. Food is also far more expensive here, whether supermarket or restaurant.

$6 chicken awful kebabs? Really?

The average pizza twice to three times the price of an average Bangkok pizza.

The problem is my paycheck is 38% of what I made in Thailand.

How does someone spend over 10,000 a month do they rent a big house and have a harem?
