Here's a photo from Huy Bunleng (local journalist) on Facebook, showing the Sihanoukville gendarmerie hard at work.

GT: Preah Sihanouk province - Activities of the Royal Gendarmerie, Security Patrols, and Public Order in Localities in the morning 09.05.2018.

What's wrong with this photo ?
Answer 1: Nothing. TIC.
Answer 2: Nothing, both gendarmes are wearing helmets.
Answer 3: Nothing, the two gentlemen are consenting adults.
Answer 4: Nothing wrong until those kids get their heads squashed on the road.
Answer 5: You must be from out of town.

I don't know what's wrong with it. Those are low-ranking gendarmes who mostly just guard places They sometimes help the traffic police but that's not their main duty and in general they don't get involved with traffic law infractions.

I've only seen them directing traffic at events and they certainly give no fucks about traffic violations.

Bumping this up - one year later with more possible answers.

Answer 6: There are no potholes in the road and you can drive on both sides.
Answer 7: There are no big trucks or concrete-mixers. No traffic jam.
Answer 8: Where is the rubbish ?

Aah, nostalgia.
