Caught my eye, photos in Cambodia :)
Re: caught my eye, photo. :)
When you put 8 pictures in the same post and then someone quotes the whole post the thread becomes near impossible to load on mobile networks.

A lot of standard photos are around 5 mb in size. I use my Canon software to resize them, and that generally makes the image about 70-130 kb in size. You can do similar stuff in Paint which should be on most Windows machines - should be no loading issues thereafter.

I usually reduce the size of photos on Photoshop before posting, as it's a pain in the ass waiting for those large ones to load.Joker Poker wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 9:49 am A lot of standard photos are around 5 mb in size. Yes, that can be a pita if you are on a slow network*. Did you quote the whole post to make the point - while doing the same? I posted a couple of rather old pictures, made with an ancient digital camera and expected the files to be smallish (did not check though). Furthermore, often sites prevent this onslaught on bandwidth and storage with an upload filter/gate that compresses any pictures to desired/standard size. As the pics here get uploaded to Imgur maybe they could remain unaltered? When you put 8 pictures in the same post and then someone quotes the whole post the thread becomes near impossible to load on mobile networks.
*annoying as well with longer threads without pictures and copying in the whole discussion each time instead of only quoting what one is replying to, which makes it easier to read. Especially when each reply gets indented thus making the post even longer (keep on scrolling). There might even be a CEO forum-etiquette-rule on? (which I never read nor tried looking up)

Etiquette could be that when you quote a post, you then edit out all but what you are replying to. It's not a rule, it's a suggestion, but you make your point better when it's clear exactly which part of the post you are addressing.Flexxman wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 5:01 pm
