Re: Mike Carroll - Rainy Season
I thought the old guy in the opening scene was half sleeping, perhaps showing signs of alzheimers
but he was actually penning this, um, opus

Is no one else going to comment on the girl? She's pretty um . . . well known.Phnom Poon wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 9:14 pm I thought the old guy in the opening scene was half sleeping, perhaps showing signs of alzheimers

Re: Mike Carroll - Rainy Season
It's got a nice tune. I'm not so sure about the opening line:
"There's a place -far away, there's a time when the sun don't shine - in the rainy season".
That's plainly untrue, it's sunny for much of the day during rainy season, and the odd deluge or overcast afternoon doesn't change that.

Silence, exile, and cunning.

Re: Mike Carroll - Rainy Season
Nice tune, and I enjoyed the singing.
Not sure why there's so much mention of her crying, and then none of that is reflected in the cinematography, but I can suspend my disbelief and just enjoy it.
Not sure why it's okay for some of you to sleep with the girls, but then allude to their "after dark" habits. Not very nice. So what? Let her have her moment in the sun.

Re: Mike Carroll - Rainy Season
She has been known to work in a hostess bar in Phnom Penh named After School. Cam Nivag had the name confused with After Dark. She's a really nice girl with great English skills and an even better sense of humor. I'm sure the last thing she would be is offended by any of these comments.
