Cambodian Drivers License ?

Would like to just pay an agent. I was told three weeks by Lucky Lucky. Is this correct? A guy told me more like 3 days? I'm willing to pay the "express" charge if available?

You should get a temporary paper copy (and your passport back) in two days but the card will take around three weeks.

This is based on you having a valid licence from your home country of course - if you don't, it's almost certainly not going to happen.

What about a valid licence from Thailand? My home country DL has long ago expired. Thanks.

Careful Nok. It's a complete rip off. They only issue one year DL (as opposed to 5 yrs if you have a local ID) and charge something like $60.

True, but the flipside is that if you're here with travel/health insurance and you are injured on the road without a license, your insurer will laugh at you.

This is Katz. Just go to Luck Moto. Once you have the receipt for purchasing a DL the police are ok with that. Don't pay any express fees. As Logos said it is a rip off. For a moto it is about $30 to $35 usd for one year. They pretty much do not offer DL to foreigners more than one year. The fee may have gone up. I have not purchased a DL for the past three years. Be careful driving in the city...lots of crazy idiots especially at night.

Yeah, the price had gone up to around $50+ at the beginning of this year when I checked.

I still have never had a Cambodian driver's license.

Unless you need it for the reasons Stroppy said, it does seem rather worthless.

Oh, and if you kill someone, yeah, it MIGHT make you look better if you have one, but meh...

Yes, they do, but you have to take lessons and sit both the theory and practical assessments. If you pass you are eligible for the 5 year license.
