2 Men Arrested for Using Electric Shock Gear in Mekong Dolphins Conservation Area
Cambodia Breaking News (Kratie): On July 23, 2019, Kampong Kboeung Fishery community collaborated with river guards to arrest two men for using electric shock equipment in the protected Irrawaddy dolphins conservation area of the Mekong river, Kampong Kboeung village, Sambor district, Kratie.
The suspects were identified as Seng Oeun, 29-year-old, and Thorn Piseth, 18-year-old> Note that they are not local fishermen, but come from upriver, Siem Bok district, Steung Treng. The police confiscated a boat, a pump, a battery, and electric shock fishing equipment.
The case of the suspects has been prepared following the legal procedure.
