TBOUNG KHMUM, Cambodia, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia on Friday broke ground for the construction of Cambodia-China Friendship Tboung Khmum Hospital here.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo HE and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian presided over the ceremony held in Tboung Khmum district in Tboung Khmum province.

Speaking at the event, HE expressed his profound gratitude to China for providing grant aid to Cambodia for the project, saying that it is crucial to improve wellbeing for rural Cambodian people.

"This is a large hospital, which is a new achievement in Tboung Khmum province," HE said, adding that "China's aid is very important to support the Cambodian government's social protection policy in providing free medical services, especially for pregnant women."

Meanwhile, Wang said when the construction of the hospital is completed, China will also send doctors to help train their Cambodian counterparts so as to provide a more efficient treatment for patients.

"We hope that this hospital will become a bridge connecting the friendship between China and Cambodia," he said.

Cambodian Health Minister Mam Bunheng said the 300-bed hospital, to be built on the land area of 24,300 square meters, will be equipped with high-technology medical equipment.

"It will become a regional hospital that will also provide medical services to people in neighboring Kratie, Rattanakiri, Stung Treng and Mondulkiri provinces," he said.

Cambodian deputy PM visits construction site of China-funded medical building
Source: Xinhua| 2019-07-16 19:44

PHNOM PENH, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhay Ly on Tuesday visited the construction site of a new building at the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital here.

The 11-storey building is being constructed by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) under the Chinese grant aid of about 82 million U.S. dollars, Chhay Ly said, adding that work on the project began in October 2018 and is due to be finished in February 2022.

"This is a huge achievement in Cambodia's health sector," the deputy prime minister said. "The building will be equipped with high-tech medical equipment, and I believe that Cambodian patients will greatly benefit from this project."

Wang Qinji, deputy general manager of the CSCEC's overseas development division, said the project has gone smoothly so far, and three out of the 11-floor building have already been constructed.
"We will do our best to finish the whole project on schedule," Wang said.

Tan Sokun, director of the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital, said the building will have 400 beds.

Sorry, but I dont see any good news in slapping together more sand, cement, bricks and motar then covering it with paint and tiles. That's the easy part.
Now if someone or some country spent time and money on training nurses , doctors and specialists in the medical fields ,,, then thats what we can call Good news.
