Permission to take kids out of the country
Permission to take kids out of the country
My two sons and I will be going to Oztralia soon, and the wife will join us in 6 - 12 months when her visa is approved.
We will be flying PP - KL (transit) - BRIS.
Do I need some sort of document saying that the wife has given permission for the kids to travel with me?
Where can I get that?
What will it cost?
Wouldn't want to get banged up in KL for people smuggling.
TIA

Re: Permission to take kids out of the country
I'm not sure about Australia laws but the US suggests a letter for border patrol in case they ask. The one time we went back without the wife we just made a hand written letter with wife giving approval for kids to be with only me. Wife signed it. Asked sangkat cheif to stamp/sign it for us and he did for no charge.
Border patrol immigration official never asked to see it so not sure if it would have been accepted or not.

Original question.
What expansion is necessary?
Do the kids have your surname?
Are they on Aussie passports?
If yes to both definitely no worries. If no, not needed either as far as I know.

Re: Permission to take kids out of the country
Some countries require a document stating the person has permission from the other parent. I believe Canada might be one and France is another. I was slightly concerned about this when transiting through France one time but nothing came of it.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
