high quality Cambodian products

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. high quality Cambodian products

Post by curiosity »

Hi folks, what are some high quality products from Cambodia and where can those products be bought? I heard about real silk being sold near Central Market. Then there is Cambodian pepper. What else comes to mind?

There is no fooling phuketrichard, he is aware there are many different qualities of rice, but as the OP is looking for high quality Cambodian products I would suggest instead of looking in any rice shop, the OP look for rice in a high quality rice shop. All rice shops are not the same, just as all rice is not the same. :stir:

If you know your business, visit the mines. For instance, in Borkeo district, behind the high school, gems can be a bargain if you know your stuff.

Used to mine stones in Bo Rai, just across the border from Palin back in the late 80's. Made a few trips into Cambodia with thai miners, but few stones even way back than an what was there were small . Most of the buyers moved up to Mae sot to buy an return with rough to Chantaburi to cut
Best quality Rubies, Sapphires come from Mogok in Burma

Most of what you see in fine shops in Cambodia nowadays comes via Thailand
