Pawn Shop Recommendations?

Post by NeverNude »

Anyone know an honest pawn shop around? There’s one down the road but they only take phones. I have a laptop I want to pawn. What can I expect for say a 2 year-old laptop, and what kind of fee do you pay for a month?

There are 3 or 4 on St 142 in front of Sorya mall.
I hocked my camera at one of them about 10 years ago.
Take receipts, original boxes, and all extras if you have them.

Ridiculous rates - only 3% per month.
From memory I got a loan for approx 30% of new price for my 2 year old camera.
I think they could see that i was going to reclaim my camera.

The daughter at the one I used had done a high school project on Spix Macaw - the world's rarest parrot,
so i got extra cred points for the bird photo's on my camera.
Have some good photo's ready on your computer to show that you are a "good man".

Did you really just do what I think you did? I'm not permitted to make outrageous accusations on this forum. On ToF I would have queried if you were hiding your non good guy behind ok pics and then advising others to do the same
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

Presumably because he wants to pawn it not sell it.

What other reasons could he have for wanting to pawn his laptop? It's not exactly a mystery...

There would probably be someone who would give him a loan with the computer as security.

These pawn-related questions are always asked right at the end of the month.

Yup. When else? Pro-tip, never take out 2k, with a nanny on premises. Took out the cash to secure room, bike and some moving expenses, went out with friends for dinner and apartment ransacked. Could take it or leave it, could use the front, but if they don’t take my computer, not a huge deal. Reading previous threads (the one where you guys caught that jay10101 guy was hilarious), there was some useful advice. So piggybacking off that, figure it can’t hurt you to get updated pawn shop advice.
