Cambodia Breaking News (Kandal): On June 17, 2019, a woman worker at a KTV died, and 3 others were sick, after drinking the drink (beer and drugs) which were made by the immigration officers in room 7777.

The victims were identified as:
1. Ech Channy, 19-year-old, died
2. Sorn Sreyneang, 26-year-old, in the Emergency room
3. Ra Samnang, 21-year-old
4. Chea Samphos, 18-year-old

The suspects were identified as:
1. Tim Vathanak, 39-year-old, an immigration officer in Kaom Samnor Border
2. Chanthrea Vanak, 35-year-old, an immigration officer in Kaom Samnor Border
3. Keo Vatathanakpon, 27-year-old, an immigration officer in Kaom Samnor Border
4. Vana, 29-year-old, a driver
5. Van Chiwon, a construction worker

The police found a pack of dark white powder, a bottle with yellow liquid, and a Tiger Balm plaster.

On June 16, five men, including three immigration officers, went to KTV room 777 together with 4 KTV girls. After half an hour, Tim Vathanak took two small bottles of medicine to mix with the drinks and gave it to the girls to drink. Then the victims became sick and one woman died. The KTV owner reported to the police immediately, and the victims went to hospital. One of the women is in intensive care. The five suspects have been arrested for questioning.

The cynic in me suspects that the least senior of the group is going to have a bunch of fingers pointing at him; driver or construction worker, while the other members of Cambodia’s finest Village People act may feel just a little uncomfortable for a while.
Whereas justice would have the most senior persons, and therefore the ones holding the higher levels of responsibility, cashiered and all five held accountable for murder.

And given that so many stories of violence, physical harm and sheer juvenile stupidity involve the various uniformed services, both on and off duty, then their most senior superiors also should be held to account for such an appalling level of discipline and amoral behaviour within the commissioned elements.

I know. This is Asia.
People are viewed in such low regard by both locals and visitors alike.

With so many people dying from unknown causes, I wonder how many of them also had drinks spiked.
## I thought I knew all the answers, but they changed all the questions. ##

I'd guess far less than idiots who choose to take huge doses of narcotics that they don't have the tolerance for. A whole lot of those who claim to have been spiked are just people who don't know their own limits, it's just a convenient excuse for them to shirk personal responsibility.

KTV hostesses recovering in Vietnam after drinking spiked wine
Kandal provincial police yesterday said that three hostesses who fell sick after their drinks were spiked in a KTV outlet on Sunday night are recovering at a hospital in Vietnam.

Major General Eav Chamroeun, provincial police chief, identified them as San Srey Nea, 26, Ra Samnang, 21, and Chea Samphors, 18, who along with another hostess who died, drank wine which five customers had spiked at MeiMei BBQ and KTV in Loeuk Dek district.

On Monday, National Police officers arrested three immigration police officers and an accomplice after the hostess Ich Channy, 19, died and the other three became sick after drinking the spiked drinks.

Maj Gen Chamroeun had identified the suspects as Tim Vathanak, 39, Chantrea Vannak, 35, and Keo Vathanak Poun, 27, all immigration police officers based at the Ka’am Samnor International Checkpoint in the province’s Loeuk Dek district.

He identified the accomplice as Vann Chivan, 29, and noted that a fifth suspect, a taxi driver known as Vanna, is at large.
