Drug Addict Tries to Jump from a Building in Phnom Penh

Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): On June 12, 2019, a male drug addict aged about 20 displayed some disturbed behavior and shocked bystanders, when he tried to jump from a building in Sangkat Cham Chao, Phnom Penh.

The strange incident occurred when a shirtless man ran into some people's house and attempted to jump from the building. Shocked, the local people contacted the police.
The police arrived on the scene and convinced the man to climb down from the building, and he was taken away to the police station for questioning. The police then contacted the Ministry of Social Affairs officer to take care of him.

"Attempted to jump from building" seems like it should be replaced with "didn't jump from building".

I highly suspect he went into the building looking for something to steal, not to jump. He could have easily jumped if he wanted to.
