Immigration Officials Visit Sihanoukville Building Sites

Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: On 7 May, 2019, the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Labor sent inspectors to visit two construction sites in Sangkat 04, Sihanouk Ville, Sihanoukville.
The two construction sites are: 1- The construction site of the Beijing Xiang Jong Building,and 2- construction site Huoyu, both located in Sangkat 04, Sihanoukville, Sihanouk Province.

46 foreign workers had their passports and documents inspected, including two women workers. The team from the Ministry are detaining 27 passports, while waiting for 19 others to produce their papers for inspection.

Immigration police are doing the rounds in Sihanoukville.

Sihanoukville: On the 8th of May, 2019, the police force of Preah Sihanouk province immigration office conducted open administrative check-ups of two local accommodations.
The two rented accommodations consisted of rooms rented out to 37 Chinese nationals, who had their passports and documents inspected by officials.

Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: On 9 May, 2019, the police force of Preah Sihanouk province Immigration Department went to inspect the immigration documents of foreigners living at two local residences.
The police registered and inspected the passports of 65 foreigners: 53 Chinese and 12 Myanmar nationals.

Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: On May 21, 2019, the Preah Sihanouk provincial police cooperated with police from the Department of Immigration to conduct inspections of foreigners in four different locations around the city of Sihanoukville.

In all four surveys, a total of 48 foreigners were inspected, all of them Chinese nationals. Police checked 45 original passports and 3 photocopies.

On 21 May 2019, Sihanoukville immigration officials have also announced that two work inspections took place on building sites in District 4 in Sihanoukville.
The first site was the Qinghai Hotel, where 22 workers were asked to provide their papers, and 4 of them had no work permit. 18 Chinese workers were inspected on the second site, and 3 of them were found to be employed without a valid work permit.

Sihanoukville, Cambodia News: The Sihanoukville authorities continue to do the rounds of work places and guesthouses catering to foreign workers to check their immigration status. On May 24, 2019 Sihanoukville police cooperated with the Department of Immigration to conduct a administrative check-up of foreigners' immigration documents in two local rental accommodations located in Sihanoukville.

In monitoring these two locations, police inspected the papers of 28 foreigners, including 20 Chinese nationals. Police saw 26 passports and two photocopies and all was in order.

Sihanoukville: The Foreigner Inspection Team has checked on one destination in Sangkat 04, Sihanouk Ville, Sihanouk Province, on May 27, 2019.
This was the construction site of GANGONG GUOZHOU, and 40 Chinese nationals had their passports inspected.
