Fruit & Vegetable Prices

Post by NeverNude »

I find myself paying wisely varying prices for fruits and vegetables at the wet market. Often from the same stand, depending on who is working. The problem is, it’s hard to gauge how much is a fair price for various items. Ok, most green vegetables are so cheap, it’s not worth discussing.

What are you guys paying for, say a kilo of the following:

-tomatoes
-oranges
-mangoes
-blueberries
-cherries
-avocados

Also, which market tends towards fresh? Most of the tomatoes I see are either I ripe or close to rotting.

Freshest would be psar deum kor at 4am, but any market before 10am should be fine. No idea of kg prices of any of that, but a week's worth of fruit and veg would cost no more than $15 for us (2 + an infant), but we never buy blueberries or cherries.
