Gold Tower 42 to be completed by 2020
After years of delays in construction, building Gold Tower 42 is scheduled to be completed in early 2020, according to the developer.
Liu Nianxin, CEO of Hongtao Decoration, said that Hongtao Weimin has constructed the high-rise project in Phnom Penh in partnership with Hongtao and Macau’s Weimin Architecture.
Yon Woo Cambodia – the company that owns the building – reached an agreement in November in 2017 with Shenzhen Hongtao Decoration and Weimin Construction & Engineering, which will be in charge of completing the project.
The 42-storey building is located in the heart of Phnom Penh, on the intersection of Monivong and Sihanouk boulevards.
The project began in 2008 and has already been delayed three times: first in 2009, following the global financial crisis, and again in 2012. Construction resumed in 2013 and then stopped again in 2017.
Yon Woo Cambodia announced last year that Gold Tower 42 construction has already cost $100 million so far and another $140 million will be spent to complete the whole project.

City’s tallest Gold Tower 42 property sales begin in June
24 May 2019 | 09:56 ICT
The Gold Tower 42 will launch the sales of its properties in June this year, about a year before the completion of the building, which is considered the tallest structure in the capital, at least for the moment.
After several delays, the construction of the mixed commercial and residential project is right on track now and scheduled to be completed in June 2020 by South Korean developer Yon Woo.
“The estimated completion date will be end of June, 2020. The structural works have been completed, the external facade [glass curtain wall], the mock-up rooms [show rooms] and the elevators installation works are in progress,” Kim Kyowon, executive managing director of Yon Woo Cambodia Co., Ltd told The Post in an interview recently.
Two years after the project kicked off in 2008, construction hit a snag due to international financial crisis. However, works resumed in 2018, added Kim.
“We will start to sell in June and a total of 615 units will be available for sale,” he added.
