The tread depth on that truck doesn't appear to have a minimum of 1mm of tread in a continuous band throughout the central three-quarters of the tread width and over the whole circumference of the tyre. Dangerous that is especially when wet. :dragonchase:

If it was two western tourists they’d be at least one “RIP” or “Fuck. That’s bullshit”, or “I feel sorry for the family” etc etc.

Chinese. Meh.

RIP

Yes Dave, it would be a nice gesture if you could post 'RIP and condolences to the families' in Chinese since they probably don't read English.

They might be the terribly worn tires we see a lot. those are military tires. I use to have some of those on a buggy. Right down the middle is solid rubber with no sipping (water channels). Hard to tell on all of them in the pic but they look ok from what I can tell.
Still here, in country...

2 Chinese tourists die in car crash in NW Cambodia: police
Source: Xinhua| 2019-05-22 18:24:57|Editor: Xiang Bo

PHNOM PENH, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Two Chinese tourists had died in a car crash in northwestern Cambodia's Banteay Meanchey province, a local traffic police chief said on Wednesday.

The victims were identified as a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, said Suth Hour, chief of O'chrov district traffic police office, adding that the man was from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the woman from Guangdong province.

The fatal accident took place on National Road No. 5 in O'chrov district on Tuesday at 5:10 p.m. local time when the speedy taxi carrying the two Chinese overtook a car and accidentally collided with a truck, he said.

"The two Chinese passengers were killed instantly during the crash and the taxi's driver, who was a Cambodian, died on the way to hospital," Hour told Xinhua via telephone.

He said the two Chinese took the taxi from the Siem Reap International Airport in northwestern Siem Reap province to Poipet town in Banteay Meanchey province when they met the accident.
