We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Disrespectful "Mr Chicken" Sign Changed After Official Complaint

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: On 14 May 2019, the collective orders of the Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Theng Sothol, Khan Chamkarmorn governor, and Mr. Sun Sothy, Director of administration of Khan Chamkarmorn, led the police forces to dismantle the sign of a Chinese restaurant named " Mr. Chicken " in Sangkat Beung Keng Kong, Phnom Penh. The restaurant owner is a Chinese national.
According to local authorities, there are two problems with the new "Mr Chicken" restaurant; namely that the owner does not have the required license to run a restaurant on the premises, and also that the Khmer version of the name of the restaurant is incorrect and insulting.

Mr. Theng Sothol said that after checking the paperwork, he saw that the restaurant was opened illegally, and in addition, the restaurant name "Mr. Chicken" is translated into Khmer as "Sach moan Lok", which is an incorrect translation: the words Sach moan mean Chicken and Lok means Monk, and this is an insult to Khmer traditions.
However, the restaurant had only been open for a few days, so the authorities went to speak to the owner about changing the sign, and also about paying the necessary fees to make his restaurant legal. After some negotiation, the two parties ended up in agreement.

Never use 'Google Translate' if you're operating an illegal business.

Even GT gives លោកមាន់ which would be more appropriate.

I was reading that as an "n", not an "la". It's no wonder half of them are illiterate, it's almost impossible to read the fancy script at any sort of speed.
