Train from Phnom Penh to Battambang

Post by Clemen »

Does anyone know if it is running and what its schedule might be? I tried the royal railway site, which was a waste of time. I asked at the Sihanoukville station and was assured it was running but they had no idea when. Anybody know?
I know it's slower than the bus, I hate buses.
Thanks

PP-Battambang 7am Wednesday, other direction Thursday only.

Some doubt as to whether services have actually resumed though.

Thank you for that. I will try calling again, but I won't hold out any hope.

I was at Phnom Penh railway station on 5 May. There is a train to Poipet via Battambang once a week on Wednesday as stated by timmydownawell. Its very slow. There is a full timetable displayed at Phnom Penh railway station showing every stop (there are a lot).

Here is the timetable. The train stops at Pursat, Maung Ressei, Battambang, Sisophon then Poipet. It only stops at the smaller stations on request/demand.
