Re: Air Asia; Phuket- Phnom Penh direct
I stayed at 99 Voyage in Patong. Nice rooms in a well managed small hotel. Cost about $11 per night. Good eating at Banzaan market in the evenings.
The bars were not so good. All open bars, hot as hell. Bangla is noisy and a tourist trap.
The minibus from the airport costs 180 baht and will drop you at any Patong hotel.
Taxis and "tuktuks" (converted small vans with multiple seating and open sides, i.e. dangerous) are a notorious rip-off.
There is also a bus that runs hourly down the west coast, linking the airport with the beaches and the beaches with each other. It's called Smart Bus.
