Drama workshops

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Drama workshops

Post by Ambrestz »

Good morning,

Drama student in Paris at Claude Mathieu’s school and actually in Cambodia, I contact you to share with you about a project I am working on. With three artists from the artistic school Phare Ponleu Selpak in Battambang, we decided to create Drama Workshops for the children of Wattamem commune. Three hours a week, the kids from 11 years old until 14 years old got the opportunity to discover more about drama by playing games and practicing exercises.

This project takes place from March to August - and some children will got the possibility to continue their practice at Phare Ponleu Selpak as well if they desire. We will also bring them to see a show to reward their vision of drama.

We try to do the best to give them a first full experience of drama. The students are really happy of the beginning of the workshops - and they all want to continue until the end of this adventure which is a positive feedback for us !

We started a fundraising few months ago to promote as much as possible our project and trying to find some help from different people or organisations. We got almost all the amount we need for salaries but also transportations and foods for our kids.

I contact you today to know if you agree or now to share this project around you to let the project being known and maybe to be able in a near future to attend our final goal but also for the one who can to give a contribution for this project as you can of course !

We are so happy to see them enjoying and being curious about every new exercises and games in the workshops - and we really hope that this project would be a help for themselves and also to make them understand better about arts.

Thanks for taking time to read aboutnthis project,

Ambre Stertzel

II think a few of those drama queens that work in Candy Bar and others have already attended your workshop.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

@OP: Is it correct that you are looking for funds for an on-going drama project with Phare Ponleu Selpak? Which is being held in Battambang at the moment? The project has started but you need more finance ? Just to be clear about what you are looking for here.

I have enough drama in my life just trying to find something decent to eat.

But thank you anyway.
