ways of learning to speak, read and write Khmer
ways of learning to speak, read and write Khmer
Hi folks,
so there are Khmer language courses at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Gateway and what not. If you want to be able to speak Khmer fluently as well as be able to read and write the Khmer script, which language school (or private tutor, or a combination of both) works best?

The best approach is total immersion. Move to somewhere where no-one speaks English.
And watch a lot of Khmer tv.

A friend of mine went to Gateway full time for a little over a year and loved it. His level of the Khmer language is pretty impressive.

How much was that, I'm usually OK with languages and can understand and speak 3 (well I can get by) but this one has really got me, I think its because of the way its written, its like deciphering hieroglyphics.
Iv seen quotes around the 300 dollar mark for three months, is that about average or over the top.

I don't now how much he paid exactly, but he said it was a bit expensive, but worth it.DaveG wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 9:42 pmHow much was that, I'm usually OK with languages and can understand and speak 3 (well I can get by) but this one has really got me, I think its because of the way its written, its like deciphering hieroglyphics.
