Yes, that is one hell of a rent price hike. Compared to long time lease, such as the 7 dragons project KK where the owners have an incentive of 10 years free lease.

I was speaking to one of the owners of a khmer run bungalow on Saracen bay and he gave roughly the same timeline before huge price increase (for him it was a 2.5x jump).

He seemed to think he had around 5 years left to make money and then leave.
