Families Helpless After Market Fire Destroys 67 Stalls
Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia News: According to the Fire and Rescue Prevention Police Department, on May 5, 2019, at 3:40 am during the night, a fire broke out at O Ambel Market in Sisophon District.
The fire, which is believed to have originated from faulty electric wiring, completely burnt down 67 market stalls. Eight fire trucks were necessary to extinguish the blaze. Most of the stall owners lost all their goods, and the next day families searched through the charred ruins in the hope of recovering anything that might have escaped the fire.
