New national anthem film to focus on harmony
so whats new?
/bprà-tâde tai ruam lûead núea châad chúea tai/
Thailand unites the flesh and blood of all the Thais,
/bpen bprà-chaa-rát, pà-tai kăwng tai túk sùan/
The land of Thailand belongs to all the Thais,
/yùu dam-rong kong wái dâai táng muan,
Their sovereignty has always long endured,
/dûai tai lúan măai rák săa-mák-kii/
For the Thais seek love and also unity,
/tai níi rák sà-ngòp, dtàe tŭeng róp mâi klàat/
Thais love peace, but if we have to fight the war, we don’t fear.
/àke-kà-ráat jà mâi-hâi krai kòm-kìi/
We don’t let anyone take away our freedom
/sà-là lûeat túk yàat bpen châat plii/
The Thais give up every drop of blood,
/tà-lĕrng bprà-tâde châad tai tá-wii mii chai chá-yoo/
Long last the nation’s pride and victory, HOORAY!.
is different in that it does not feature scenes of battle, but instead depicts harmony with images of people from all walks of life, from civilians and farmers to fishermen and religious leaders, she said. She added that once the coronation ceremony is completed, the clip accompanying the Royal anthem will feature His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Re: New national anthem film to focus on harmony
I actually quite like the anthem as a tune, it’s played before kick off at every football game and I feel it’s very much part of the occasion, the cheering and drum beats starting after the last bar. As for the lyrics and propaganda video, hard to say they apply in the current political climate or todays society which Is so heavily skewed towards the rich and powerful elites.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

In 2018 in Credit Suisse’s Global Wealth Databook Thailand had the worst inequality incone gap in the world, 1% of the country control 66.9% of the nations wealth up from 58% 2 years previous so it’s getting worse as the country develops. By contrast in Australia the figure is 22.4%.Arget wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 1:34 pmDoesn't that also apply to most nations of the world.Cowshed Cowboy wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 12:41 pm I actually quite like the anthem as a tune, it’s played before kick off at every football game and I feel it’s very much part of the occasion, the cheering and drum beats starting after the last bar. I can’t comment on how equal other countries justice systems compare since I don’t follow their affairs closely, but I would say Thailand measures up even less favourably in that regard.

Re: New national anthem film to focus on harmony
It truly is quite a catchy tune. I can still hum it all the way through. In contrast, I have no idea what the national anthem of Laos, Cambodia or Vietnam sound like.
They should start playing it publicly three times a day instead of just two. I think 12 noon would be an appropriate time. Also, a fourth time at midnight would be nice.
I wonder if they could persuade Van Halen to record a special hard rock version as well.
