Re: Korean Man LEE SEUNGHO Arrested for Living and Working in Cambodia Illegally
When a Korean tour guide was in the news recently, Cambodians were complaining loudly that foreigners are stealing their business, so this may be part of a crackdown on foreign tour businesses in Siem Reap. There are a lot of Korean and Chinese tourists coming to Angkor Wat who are said to by-pass the local Siem Reap economy.

Holy Moly. Ahem, according to my calculations that's about 1868 days overstay. And the fine is now $10 a day, is that correct ?
But the guy was too poor to pay for a visa extension? It would have cost less than the overstay. What will they do if he can't cough up US$18,680 ? Which I suppose he can't. Maybe he could ask the Korean PM for a mercy loan while he is visiting Cambodia .

I'm pretty sure they put a limit on the amount you have to pay once it gets to a certain point, no idea how much but it wouldn't be anywhere near that much.. probably a couple of thousand. He's probably blacklisted from coming back for life though.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 8:45 pm Holy Moly. Ahem, according to my calculations that's about 1868 days overstay.
