Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
Funnily enough Amsterdam came up in a conversation tonight, the topic of animal-dicks led to me wondering how I knew pigs had corkscrew dicks. I eventually figured that considering I'd never spent much time on any farm it was most likely the Swedish porno mag that was openly displayed in a shop window while my 11 year old self was out sight-seeing with the folks. Dear me.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Sorry your family is so messed up.tightenupvolume1 wrote:My sister became a banker, she was so embarrassed and ashamed she told my mum she was a prostitute
Bankers make a safe place for people’s valuables, and provide loans, so business that hire prostitutes, can thrive.

Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
I believe that everyone should be allowed to take control of their own body, as long as they aren't hurting anyone else. Age restrictions are fine but I don't believe the state should be involved in personal transactions after that.
Who the fuck is the state to tell you what you can or can't do with your own body? That's the only thing you own, and while abuse has to be addressed the state should have no right over your personal choices.

I'm definitely for the legalisation of prostitution. Prohibition has never worked, and only creates a blackmarket economy where workers are unsafe and easy to exploit.
There is also the fact that the state should not get to decide that what you do with your own body is right or wrong. If you harm no one then you should be free to choose. Prostitution, drugs or tattoos or whatever.

His sister shouldn’t feel shame that she is a banker and instead decided to lie to mom and tell her that she is in a far better profession, a prostitute.Anthony's Weiner wrote:pot calling the kettle black?
My family is far from perfect. I am far from perfect. It is a fact. Nothing to hide. I state my beliefs and ideas as I see them in this group. There’s a diversity of opinions on this forum. There is no party line to tow, no diversity lawyers enforcing mandatory compliance in the daily grind. And always a healthy exchange of ideas here.
Prostitution used to be a state institution in the Khmer Empire. In some cultures prostitutes were highly educated and trained to play music instruments, etc. as well. In short, to be the everything that their wives (or husbands) weren’t. That’s far better than the mess now. They were licensed, regulated, respected, and backed by the state.
I believe that what consenting women (or men) choose to do is up to them. The problem is that a lot (not so much in Cambodia), are kidnapped, drugged, and forced.
Or the proverbial meth whore plying Wat Phnom at midnight.
Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
I always felt the women in my country that had to have a house, car, credit cards, diamonds, furs and a maid were the biggest prostitutes on the planet...
Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
Prostitution is disgusting but I see no reason for it to be illegal. Just regulate it and tax it, I don't see anybody being harmed by allowing it.
Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
Also, keep it illegal is just wasting valuable police and judicial resources.Paulo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 6:22 pm Prostitution and brothel keeping have been legal in New Zealand for quite a while and the profession of sex worker is regarded as a legal occupation.
It's much better to be honest about it instead of pretending that it is not happening then making criminals out of people for just wanting to have sex which is a human need.
It helps as Kammekor said, with the collection of taxes, and can prevent the spread of diseases as brothel owners must provide health care to their workers.
Legalization also lessens the chance of police corruption.
The laws regarding brothel keeping were passed by a left leaning female prime minister and feminism is strong there.
Re: Should prostitution be a normal profession?
The only difference between a prostitute and regular girlfriend is not in paying for sex. Both demand payment of one kind or another. It's just that with a prostitute, you pay her a bit extra to go away afterwards and leave you alone.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.
