Cambodian I D Card
Re: Cambodian I D Card
I'll have her try again. The first thing she did was go to the passport office and it was they who told her she needed her National ID and asked for $500.
Re: Cambodian I D Card
The passport office asked her for $500! The official prices are clearly posted.
Re: Cambodian I D Card
My gf was born in ratanakiri, and she just simply go to AEON 2 top floor near the tv station (I forgot its name). She lost it long time ago like 4 years and pay less than 50$ and bring passport , birth cert, and family card. But unfortunately I'm not sure if the card will come out since it's been 3 months since end of January she applied the ID card. She's been following up with them but they just say wait.
If anyone experienced this also or have a solution that might be help.

The passport office told her she needed the ID and it would be $500. I'm not sure if it was for ID and Passport, or just the ID. At the Sangkat, it was $360 for the ID alone. She's coming home today, so I'll get the complete story. The Internet at our place in PP was pretty dodgy this week and I heard about every other word.
I'm assuming they know they have us over a barrel and if we can't find a way around it, we'll have to pay it. Is the anti-corruption unit worth the time?

I took my 17 year old girl to the local sangkat the day after her 17th b/day, with her birth certificate to get an ID for her. It took near three months but no-one asked for any money.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

We endured a lot of bullshit and corruption in trying to get my son's birth certificate with both of us listed as parents, OWS sorted it out quickly, in accordance with law. I would guess you'd have a similar experience dealing with them to get an ID.

Re: Cambodian I D Card
Is this still the requirement for a Khmer passport for a minor?
Birth Certificate + Familybook + old passport (assuming there's one)?
Re: Cambodian I D Card
@Kammekor
Documents Required:
- Old passport (if renewal)
- Family Book or Carnet de Residence.
- Cambodian Birth Certificate
- Cambodian Parents National ID Card, or Passport or Birth Cert if no National ID (if for child)
- Foreign Parents Passport with Valid Visa (if for child)
- Cambodian Marriage Certificate (if legally married - this is technically not required, however many people have experienced being asked to provide it, so if you have it then take it to be on the safe side)
Applicant needs to go in person as they collect biometrics and take a digital passport photo.
