Power cuts over Khmer New Year

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Power cuts over Khmer New Year

Post by Doc67 »

Street 23 has not had any cuts for 2 days in a row. Nice, but unexpected, so I carried on with early/lates planning for no reason which is annoying.

What's the betting on no cuts today and the rest on the holidays? It would be very nice to return to a normal routine for a few days...

Any thoughts?

No cuts here for the past 2 days as well. This last week seemed especially lax. The cuts came at odd times and never more than an hour.

My wife is off to the province and reported cuts as usual as of yesterday.

I think HE is a savvy politician and there has been a decision made to pause the cuts over the holiday period in order to quell the potential ire of a multitude of drunken, dancing, celebrating, partying masses.

Good idea,, but keep the jerrycan full of fuel as well.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Vietnam has given Cambodia 200 - 250MW for the new year.

Plus it was said that there'd be no cuts on Sundays or national holidays. With so many factories, schools, businesses etc closed should hopefully be enough power until maybe the next weekend. Enjoy it
