So you have to be a registered member? Not just walk in & shop?
Officially I think you should register but I went there couple weeks ago and I didn't register. Just normal walk in & shop. No one asked or said anything.
Your discussion is very interesting. I'm interested in Cash & Carry Business in Cambodia. Do you two live in Cambodia? Can you advise what the top 5 Cash & Carry Players are? Are Metro Wholesale, Walmart or Carrefour famous in Cambodia? Thanks you two for advice.

Gonna bring this one back from the dead...

Earlier in the thread a poster said that they just walked in and shopped without needing a card, is that still the deal there?

In Thailand you ask for a day pass and they give you a little scannable laminated card that you hand to the cashier before she rings your stuff through the till, is that not used here?

TIA.

UPDATE

Siam Makro to open two more stores in Cambodia to meet rising demand
Published : April 13, 2022
The increasing purchasing power of Cambodians is prompting foreign department stores, including Thailand’s Siam Makro Plc, to open more shopping malls in the country, the Thai embassy reported.

The foreign trade promotion office at the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh reported that Siam Makro would open two more Makro shopping malls in Cambodia, adding to the two Makro stores already in operation. Currently, Siam Makro owns one shopping mall in Phnom Penh and another in Krong Siem Reap, the trade office added.

The office said Cambodia’s economy is expanding fast, as a result the lifestyle of Cambodians is undergoing a rapid change due to higher purchasing power. The office said as part of the changing lifestyle, more Cambodians were shopping in hypermarkets and modern shopping malls.

Currently, there are several foreign-owned shopping malls in Phnom Penh, including Aeon Mall 1, Aeon Mall 2, Exchange Square, TK Avenue, Global House and SCG Home Village, the trade office said.

Makro supermarket opens in Chroy Changva district

Makro Cambodia Co. Ltd. yesterday officially opened its third supermarket – Makro Chroy Changva – in the Chroy Changva district, which has been a hotbed of both borey developments and modern high-rise condominiums.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant General HM, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army.

He lauded Makro for its steady growth and opening of the third branch in Chroy Changvar, which is the result of the ability, hard work and proactive spirit, professionalism and high responsibility of all management and staff of the company.

He said the opening of the new branch reflected the economic development in Cambodia.

“Makro’s growth has contributed significantly to the process of socio-economic development of Cambodia and the community, especially providing job opportunities to the people of Cambodia, as well as many other benefits to local and related businesses,” Manet said.

The company employs up to 98 percent of Cambodian employees and sells up to 90 percent of local products. Manet said it is providing job opportunities and professional capacity building to the people, including income, and supporting business processes, especially opening opportunities for local producers to compete in the market.
