fire on Patong beach road

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

fire on Patong beach road

Post by phuketrichard »

Phuket bike week kicked off today,
water throwing tomorrow
and tonight ( right now) BBQ on the beach

Fire on the Patong beach road - not Bangla Rd - this evening. Keep clear of the beach road as fire trucks are in the area.
No reports of injuries at this stage. Let's hope it stays that way.

UPDATE: Bangla Rd was closed to allow two fire trucks to access the fire, a Patong Municipality firefighter confirmed.

The fire has been brought under control. Police are now at the scene.

Firefighters believe the fire might have started from an electrical transformer on a power pole in front of the shop

Bangal Rd has now been re-opened but firefighters and police are still asking motorists to avoid the beach road.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
