74yo Australian Driving Car Hits Woman Pedestrian in Siem Reap

Siem Reap, Cambodia News: On April 09, 2019, a 74-year-old Australian man, GABRIEL CHAISE, seriously injured a woman pedestrian while driving along national road 06, Chikreng district, Siem Reap.

The lieutenant Sok Sotheavuth said the Camry plate Phnom Penh 2L-4108, was driven by the man,Mr Chaise, with a woman and 2 children as passengers. The car drove to crash into a 58-year-old woman, An Heang, who was walking on the street.

After the incident, the traffic police went to check the accident and prepared the case at the provincial police station. The woman victim was seriously injured and was sent to hospital.

Incidentally, the driver was carrying an expired drivers license from Victoria,Australia.

Road 6 is the national route. It is not a pedestrian way fair.

Road 5 in PP is also not a pedestrian way fair. Try walking on the footpath .

Looks like its going to be a very expensive time for Mr. Chaise.

I live in Chikreng district, Kampong Kdei, about 50 miles south of town. Its extremely busy out there on the main road especially in front of the very large market (similar size to Psar Lue in town.) I'm not saying Mr.Chaise was speeding, only it would be wise to keep your wits about you and drive very slowly as there's all sorts trying to cross the road here, cows included.
