Female Student Killed in Range Rover Hit and Run in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (UPDATE: Release from Prison)
Re: Female Student Killed in Range Rover Hit and Run in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (VIDEO)
And he actually thinks this is a good PR shot, might aswell just given her one of those giant cheques you get on game shows.

Smart move about the gameshow cheque. That will placate and appease the social media chatterers. Now quietly drop another 70k in someone else's pocket, and she's heading for weekend detention at Le Royal or 20 hours community work on a golf course and everybody's happy. Case closed.

Hit-and-run suspect in hospital for treatment
Yin Khun Mey, a motorist suspected of killing a university student in a hit-and-run incident in Phnom Penh last month, was admitted to the Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital on Monday night because she needed urgent medical attention.
Ms Khun Mey, 16, alias Yin Mana, was charged with driving without care and attention, and negligence leading to death, over the incident which drew national attention. If convicted, she could be jailed for up to three years and be fined up to $3,700.
She has been in pre-trial detention ever since she turned herself in after Prime Minister HE called for the arrest of those responsible for the death of 23-year-old university student Dum Rida.
Hospital director Ngy Meng yesterday said Ms Khun Mey was ill and needed medical attention.
Nouth Savna, spokesman for the Interior Ministry’s General Department of Prisons, said Ms Khun Mey was sent to hospital because of bronchitis and respiratory congestion.

I wonder how much these top-brass folks have to pay to get moved from jail/detention to hospital, there's got to be somebody making a tidy sum on the side to "facilitate".

Lol, it's always to the soviet hospital, and almost always for "respiratory issues".
Maybe the air over there let's them breathe more freely.

I guess if you were in Prey Sar as a general "non rich" crim and had a respiratory issue they would move you to soviet hospital as well as that would be the fair treatment.

Or just 20 hours on a golf course, with dad and his mates.Paulo wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 8:01 am Smart move about the gameshow cheque. That will placate and appease the social media chatterers. Wasn't this originally reported as mild asthma?CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 6:07 pm ... because of bronchitis and respiratory congestion.
Comedian. My guess is that with all the renovations at the Friendship Hospital, there are some executive suites hidden away for people more powerful than you and I.

You do know this happened in Cambodia, right?IraHayes wrote:If only they had found a lawyer with the balls and integrity to make a stand.
The CNRP party (aka the opposition) was disbanded by royal decree, and any remaining members left are either in jail, staying silent, or have joined the ruling CPP. All the media self-censor to make sure they are on the correct side of iron man. And HE is on Facebook and has his own news service.
Who’s going to protect the lawyer with balls and integrity from the rich and powerful? You? Me? CEO?
Sorry, all the lawyers with balls and integrity to make a stand have left Cambodia.
Those with balls making a stand are from PRC China.

Quoted in Khmer times, prison spokesman assures us "it is not because she was born into a rich family" so happy to know that everyone would receive the same level of medical care, better than you get in the west.
