Female Student Killed in Range Rover Hit and Run in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (UPDATE: Release from Prison)

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A girl student at Paragon International University in Phnom Penh was struck and killed by a Range Rover while riding a motorbike.

The road accident occurred in the afternoon of March 26, 2019, along Street 317, next to Street 528 in Boeung Kok I commune, Toul Kork district.

The accident was filmed by a video camera that was installed near the scene and shared on Facebook, showing the Range rover, plate number 2AF-7777, arriving at full speed and hitting the girl on the motorbike without stopping. The victim was killed instantly.

With thousands of videos being watched and sharing on social networks, the public insisted and appealed to General National Police Chief Gen. Neth Savoeun to help arrest the driver of a car and bring justice to the family of the victim. The young woman has been identified as Dum Rida, 22-year-old native of Kampong Damrei village, Prek Tamrak commune, Ksach Kandal district, Kandal province. RIP.

Phnom Penh Police Chief of Traffic Police told Fresh News this afternoon (26 March) that skilled personnel were doing their best to bring the driver to justice.
On 27 March, it was reported that the car has been found in a garage, but police have still not located the driver.

He will be identified as soon as the police take fingerprints and DNA samples from the Range Rover then check the registered owner of 2AF-7777

Apparently the driver is a she.. so sick though the footage total disregard for speed,safety or life easily doing 80 clicks.. such a waste condolences to the family.

They found the man who was the registered owner of the Land Cruiser but he said that he had sold the vehicle 3 years ago.

Question: Doesn't everyone remove the license plate from the vehicle when you sell it, just for the reason they might kill someone and then the police come looking for you?

Shocking incident. The RR rips the life out of a young lady and almost takes out the white car too. Absolutely no regard for other lives. Police should make an example of the driver. Put her in front of a firing squad.

The evoque and the 2 pedestrians near the tree are lucky to be unharm from this one.

RIP poor girl, they found the car's owner but not yet the driver.

I see the white car (Evoque?) reverses back to have a look. “Er no”. Can’t say I blame them as it wasn’t their fault. Not sure I get involved if I was in the same situation.
