Re: Bangkok
Try the Vertigo at Banyan Tree hotel. I went there once for my friend's bachelorette party. From there, you get a magnificent view of the city. This is five-star rooftop restaurant has a delightful ambience. Their menu includes exquisite Asian cuisine such as crisp lobster ring with mango chutney, duck tagine, ocean bass on a bed of dauphinoise potatoes, with Thai tea crème brûlée to wrap up, etc. Me and my friends had a gala time there.

Re: Bangkok
Maybe you were flying from Don Muang, but anyone on a short business trip with not too much luggage and flying out of Suvarnabunmi I'd strongly recommend using the Airport Express Rail Link, use a taxi to the nearest Sky Train or MRT station and then connect from there. I use it all the time and it's an excellent service. about 40 minutes from the center of Bangkok, costs bugger all as well. You can download a very user friendly App Map of the system with the stations, lines and connection points.Citizen 1010 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:00 am The biggest thing you need to know is that the traffic is totally mad. Depending on the time of day and where you are tavelling from it could take you three hours to get to the airport. I was supposed to fly back yesterday and left the office at the normal time for an 8.20pm flight. 59 minutes later I was back at the office having travelled a total of 9.8km. I'll fly back next week now on the early morning flight. About the only time you can be guaranteed of not being caught in a jam is to head to the airport at 5am.
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.

Re: Bangkok
right, try getting all the paperwork for a NON B visa together,(PS to get one u need be applying for a WP) for a 2 day trip, coming in on a visa exempt entry, (issued to 55 nationalities) even attending meetings, signing some papers, is all cool.Citizen 1010 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:00 am You don't need a work permit to attend meetings or conventions in Thailand. You "should" have a business visa, not a visa exempt entry. Your Khmer staff get visa exempt entry under the bilateral agreement between Asean member states, but their entry will be stamped "employment not permitted". They are allowed to stay for 15 days and are in the primary group for being asked to show a return ticket, accommodation booking, and Bt20,000 cash on arrival in order to gain entry. People using a large number of visa exempt entries are now being regularly denied entry at Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi, even with the onward ticket and cash.

As far as bars, there's obviously more qualified respondents on here than me going by some of the replies, but there is quit a lot of new development in the On Nut/ Phrom Pong area and I may have seen a sign for a new rooftop bar at On Nut yesterday on the opposite side to the Tesco mall.
For that flight i'd have left at 5:00 pm for an international flight,(its fucking rush hour) what time did u leave?left the office at the normal time for an 8.20pm flight. 59 minutes later I was back at the office having travelled a total of 9.8km
why would u travel about half way to only return> i have never taken more than 1 hour from lower sukumvit to DM>
seems u left it way to close but 3 hours>>>get real

Last time I went to Suvarnabhumi, the queue at the security check was way worse than traffic jam
Don't forget the water buffalo
Re: Bangkok
Worse than a traffic jam indeed!
Last time I had a 5 hr layover in Suvarnabhumi, just after they'd introduced the smoking ban, I made the mistake of heading out of the airport for a few beers and a smoke, took me about 90 minutes to get back in through Immigration and security! Made it to the gate just 25 minutes before departure, I will not try that again.

Re: Bangkok
Left the office at 5pm. Was back at 5.59pm. Total distance travelled 9.8km. Read the above. That's hardly halfway to Don Mueang. I do the trip every two weeks. I know the usual travel time. Suit yourself though.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 8:56 amright, try getting all the paperwork for a NON B visa together,(PS to get one u need be applying for a WP) for a 2 day trip, coming in on a visa exempt entry, (issued to 55 nationalities) even attending meetings, signing some papers, is all cool.Citizen 1010 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:00 am You don't need a work permit to attend meetings or conventions in Thailand. Re: Bangkok
Thank you all for the replies. Our clients wanna fuck some Thai hookers. Where should we take them? Any ping pong show to start off the night?
We're gonna have drinks/ dinner at the Marriott. Anything in that area?
I really need to close that deal. Thanks in advance.
PS: Siam mall is madness. Wish there was anything like this in cambodia. McDonald's and Jamba Juice totally hit the spot.

You're right into the action if you're staying at Mariott . Richard nailed it all. Soapy might be more relaxing than Nana thoughtQueef wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 4:14 pm Thank you all for the replies. I don't think our clients have ever been to anything like this. Could describe last night this way: an Australian, a Malaysian, a Kenyan, and a Cambodian guy walk into a bar...
