I wonder what happened between the cab driver and the Japs. One just doesn't simply stab someone to death out of the blue. I mean they could be nutjobs, but I find this story really weird. I don't condone the stabbing but I'd like to hear their side of the story.

Why would they stab the driver and leave the body on the road? Shoulda kept the body in the car, especially since the windows are tinted.
Taking the car and crashing it? Fear mixed with an adrenaline rush after stabbing the driver.

I’m in no way defending these two Japanese guys. For one, the photos are of very poor quality. But, if one looks at the photos of the car, there is a lot of blood. There is a lack of blood on the two accused. It might be due to the poor photo quality. Neither of the two look as though they got in the driver’s seat—no apparent blood smears on their pants. Did have time to wash their faces and hands before fleeing the scene?

WRITER: KYODO NEWS

PHNOM PENH: Two Japanese men in their 20s were arrested in Cambodia late on Sunday on suspicion of killing a taxi driver in the country's north, a local police official said.

The men were identified as Reimon Ishida, 23, originally from Chiba orefecture near Tokyo, and Ryuji Nakakuki, also 23, originally from Fukushima prefecture.

The two admitted to killing Cambodian man Him Chan, 40, with a knife around 5pm on Sunday to steal his taxi which they planned to use in committing further crimes, according to Huot Sothy, deputy police chief in Siem Reap province.

The pair arrived in Siem Reap on Saturday via Thailand.

On Sunday morning, they allegedly hired a car and driver to take them to the neighbouring province of Banteay Meanchey with the intention of stealing the vehicle. They decided not to steal the car after discovering it was equipped with a camera.

They then allegedly hired their taxi driver victim on the way back to Siem Reap before killing him and stealing his car, the official said.

After stealing the car, the suspects almost immediately collided with a truck and came to a halt in front of a house about 300 metres away. The incident occurred in a village in Puok district, about 18 kilometres from the town of Siem Reap.

Look at the nationality of the perps. Look at the location. Look at perceived motive. Look at the result.

I dont think you need reasons or any plans to do this type of crime,,, all you need is ICE.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

the Khmer facebook I saw was premature ...said men were chinese.... they showed man's corpse and throat cut apparently... huge blood stain..
my humble opinion is the doped up lads could not drive a clutch...their plan went awry when they tried to make their getaway....could not shift...
the locals were blaming chinese since it is very common now for chinese to be involved in crazy shit in Cambodia...
My wife told me and showed me pics hours ago.
I see Japanese kid and passport..and names..
hard drugs are evil...
